Terms of Use
Last updated September 01, 2025.
These Terms of Use govern access to the Go REST website and API at gorest.co.in. They are written in plain English; legal terms are explained where they appear.
Acceptance
By accessing or using Go REST (gorest.co.in), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these Terms occasionally; the most recent version is the one on this page, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
What the service is
Go REST is a free, public REST API plus a documentation and tools site. The API serves realistic fake data for testing and prototyping. The service is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis, with no uptime, performance, or accuracy guarantees. It is not intended for production workloads.
Acceptable use
Use the API for testing, learning, prototyping, and building portfolio or demo projects. Do not abuse, attack, scrape excessively, attempt to overwhelm, or use the service in any way that disrupts other users. Do not attempt to break authentication, evade rate limits, or use the data to train commercial models without permission. Do not impersonate other users or owners of access tokens.
Accounts and access tokens
Sign-in is via third-party OAuth (GitHub, Google, Microsoft). You are responsible for safeguarding the access tokens you generate. Do not share tokens. Do not embed tokens in public client-side code. Tokens that we determine have been compromised, or that are being used abusively, may be revoked without notice. Account deletion can be requested from My Account → Profile.
Data and content
Records you create through the API are visible only to your access token, except for shared seed data which is public. We reseed all non-system records every 24 hours; data you create may be deleted at any reset. Do not use Go REST to store anything you cannot afford to lose, anything sensitive, or anything that personally identifies a real human without their consent. Content you submit through the contact form or the Q&A section may be reviewed and may be displayed publicly when posted as a question.
Intellectual property
The Go REST website, branding, design, copy, and code (excluding open-source dependencies which retain their respective licences) are owned by Silicon Circuits. You may use the documentation and code samples on the docs pages freely in your own projects under standard fair-use principles. Do not republish the documentation as your own. The fake data in the public API is generated from public sources and may be used freely in test and demo content.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Your use of the service is at your sole risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Silicon Circuits shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, to us, or to third parties. You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account from My Account → Profile.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
